La Strega

La Strega is a three-minute walk away on Main Street. It serves delicious homemade, authentic Italian vegetarian food; although I think I had their gnocchi twice before I realised, it was vegetarian.

La Strega, meaning ‘The Witch’ in Italian, invites you into a cosy and whimsical world. The restaurant’s interior, adorned with charming witches, creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is sure to make your dining experience memorable.

We are blessed to have this little gem so close to us. My favourites are the Piadina for lunch, an Italian flatbread toasted and folded. My filling of choice is the Caprese, which is buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomato, and basil. For dinner, I like the Bucatini All Puttanesca, a Naples-style pasta dish containing capers, olives, chilli, garlic, and tomatoes. An extra special mention must go to the Tiramisu. I sometimes go there and have it for breakfast with a delicious Cappuccino.

The Crown

The Crown is the nearest pub to your accommodation. It has a good selection of beers, ales and spirits and is open daily from midday.

It has a pool table and dart board and shows sports on multiple screens.

There is live music each weekend with midweek quizzes and karaoke.

The Crown also holds Crownfest each May. A small music festival and bike show.

The Plough and Harrow

The Plough and Harrow is a pub and restaurant which is a 15 minute walk away. It has recently been refurbished and their Sunday lunches are delicious and great value for money.

The Plough has a pool table and often has live music and other entertainment such as karaoke.

There are also themed food nights such as Wing Wednesday and Steak Fridays where a rib-eye steak is just £15.

The Plough and Harrow is open Wednesday to Sunday and shows live football matches on their various screens.

When the weather is nice, there is a beer garden, outdoor bar and children’s play area.

The Codfather

The Codfather is my favourite chippy in Littleport. We got a chippy tea from there the first night we got the keys to the house. I’m unsure if it’s because they know me now or if everyone gets this treatment, but the chip portions are massive. I get one portion between four, and there are still some leftovers.

I like to order on their website, and then by the time I put my shoes on and walk around the corner, the food is just about ready.

My favourite is cod, chips, mushy peas AND curry sauce… delicious!
