Nearest pub

The Crown

34 Main Street · a couple of minutes' walk

The Crown is the closest pub to The Studio, and there's been an inn on this corner since before 1700. It's a proper local, with a good range of beers, ales and spirits, a pool table and darts, and sport on several screens.

There's live music most weekends, plus quizzes and karaoke in the week. Every May they hold Crownfest, a small music festival and bike show that's a lot of fun.

A pint, live music, the match

The Plough and Harrow

61 Ely Road · about 15 minutes' walk

The Plough and Harrow has had a new lease of life as a Nepalese and Indian restaurant. Alongside the curries you'll find handmade momos, the Nepalese dumplings, and dishes from the grill. They do takeaway too, if you'd rather eat in front of the fire.

Clare's Kitchen

Sharmans Garden Centre, Camel Road · on the edge of town

Our pick for breakfast. Clare's Kitchen is the café at Sharmans Garden Centre, serving home-cooked breakfasts all day, light lunches and homemade cakes, with roast dinners on Sundays. There's a gift shop to browse while you wait.

Good for
A full breakfast, Sunday roast
Fish and chips

The Codfather

Round the corner

Our favourite chippy in Littleport, and the first meal we had in the house the day we got the keys. The portions are enormous: one portion of chips does the four of us with leftovers. Order online, and by the time you've got your shoes on and walked round the corner it's just about ready.

Adam's order is cod, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Trust him on the curry sauce.

Good for
A chippy tea on your first night
